Please join us on April 11th for a series of short presentations of fire investigation topics presented by Virginia Chapman of EFI Global, Inc. and David Smith, Deputy Fire Marshal with Lake Oswego Fire Department. David will provide a brief overview of the public sector approach to fire investigations. Participants will learn the basics of when public fire investigators respond, the process they follow and at what point their investigation stops. Virginia will continue the discussion from the point the public investigation is picked up by the private fire investigators and a summary of their approach and objectives. Virginia will also present a case study on a hydrogen tank fire, how a problem was identified and the resulting worldwide impact to changes made on tanks.

Virginia Chapman has been with EFI Global as a private fire investigator since 2015.  She retired from Vancouver Fire Department in 2015. She currently holds certifications for IAAI-CFI, IFSAC-CFI, and CFEI and CVFI with NAFI.  She is on the Board of Directors for Oregon IAAI.
