Topic: AFFF Cleanout and Treatment of PFAS in Water using PerfluorAd™
This presentation will describe the critical need for the effective cleanout of Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) and Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) residues from both mobile and fixed firefighting apparatus. As forever chemicals pose significant environmental and health risks, mitigating their presence is paramount.
By examining experience, challenges, best practices, and emerging solutions, valuable insights will be offered into safeguarding public health and environmental sustainability within firefighting operations. To date, this method has been used on over 200 firefighting vehicles and fixed systems in Europe and the U.S. and for treatment of more than 13 million gallons of PFAS impacted water. This presentation will cover AFFF cleanout and rinsate treatment results and focus on efforts to minimize the expense. Project examples will be discussed and results presented.
